The name of our beautiful village come from the
Gaelic translation of An Gleann Garbh, which means
the craggy or rugged glen, derived from the rugged beauty of the
rock formations, wooded valleys and beautiful mountains
surrounding the village. Garnish Island is Ireland's most outstanding garden island with is world famous collection of semi-tropical plans and is well-known Italian Gardens. Ferry service from the village center and at each end of town bring tourists to and from this spectacular setting all day long. Palm trees and exotic flowers are found
